Brief Description:


This functional manager’s role involves overseeing a group of data engineers out of the Hyderabad, India location of Dun & Bradstreet. They are responsible for managing, owning and providing the resources for projects. However, their involvement with projects varies based on the companys organizational structure. Functional managers balance planning and direction to ensure team members have the resources they need and are able to complete their tasks on time.


Key Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of software engineers and their career inspirations.

  • Assist with hiring and staffing decision, particularly for specific projects.

  • Managing and planning a geographically diverse development of resources and teams.

  • Demonstrates clear and effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff, both business and technical

  • Discuss changes with project teams to ensure timely delivery of project tasks.

  • Evaluate employees to ensure that they have the best team.

  • Track the team’s progress and performance

  • Ensure that team members follow office and company policies.

  • Hands on creative problem solving that addresses user and business needs

  • Run a project team as needed ensuring that project tasks are distributed to team members as per their skillset and based on their priority. Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner



Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferable in computer science, mathematics, data science, or a related field)

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing a software team.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience building applications in a development environment preferably using python.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in SQL for querying and analyzing data in a relational database.

  • Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.


  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others to analyze issues and implement solutions
