Manager AWS Billing Monetization

Description

AWS Billing Operations team is responsible for the execution and delivery of billing artifacts to AWS customers and partners accurately, on time, and at scale across multiple regions, partitions, and billing models. We're looking for a leader who drives outcomes in a fast-moving environment, thrives in complexity, and is ready to make an impact in one of AWS's most critical and evolving spaces. You'll manage a team of analysts delivering billing outcomes, drive operational excellence across the group, and build a high-performing team that scales with the business.

AWS billing spans thousands of customers with unique needs, from enterprise contracts to partner programs to new services launching in new regions. This team operates at the center of it, working closely with Engineering, Product, Finance, Customer Service, and AWS service teams. As new services and pricing models launch, this team helps generate revenue by handling customer billing and drives toward platform integration over time.

You'll bring the voice of the customer into engineering, product, and service teams, serving as the subject matter expert who ensures we're building the right solutions. You'll shape billing software to be more flexible and scalable by partnering across multiple stakeholders and bringing the right context to the table

Key job responsibilities

• Establish workflows and SLAs that keep operations running reliably. Make decisions that are data-driven, auditable, and measurable
• Own capacity planning, cross-training, and team resilience
• Manage stakeholder and customer escalations with judgment, and make proactive decisions before issues impact customers
• Identify bottlenecks, simplify processes, build mechanisms that scale. Embrace AI and emerging tools to improve how we deliver
• Define metrics, set goals, and design long-term strategy, working backwards from customer problems
• Lead product and process strategy with service, pricing, and engineering teams. Drive faster, consistent decision-making and bring innovative thinking to how we solve problems, including leveraging AI and tooling
• Identify risks and areas of opportunity. Negotiate priorities across teams and make trade-offs between short and long-term needs
• Communicate with clarity through narratives, discussions, and presentations to senior leadership and cross-functional partners. Influence without authority when needed
• Lead and develop a team of billing analysts. Coach employees, build a high-performing team, and foster an inclusive culture
  
  

A day in the life

A typical day blends team leadership, operational problem-solving, and cross-functional partnership. You'll review billing metrics and org performance, address escalations, and partner with engineering and product teams on roadmap priorities. You'll coach your team, dive into data to solve customer issues, and present strategy to leadership. You'll engage directly with customer-facing teams and customers - listening to their experience, resolving friction, and bringing that feedback back to improve how we deliver. You'll also explore how AI and tooling can simplify your team's work and accelerate outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of people management experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
• Experience in leadership roles in sales operations, sales strategy, finance, business development, or other related fields
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing business processes
• Experience in multiple organizational functions such as compensation, forecasting or organizational development
• 5+ years of leading a divisional sales operations function or equivalent responsibilities supporting a mid-to-large-scale multi-geographical hi-tech sales organization experience
• Master's degree or equivalent
