Mainframe Developer With 3-4 Years Of Exp

We are looking for a Mainframe Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe applications within the CBSS, CRD environment. The role will involve working on both batch and online processing systems, performing impact analysis, implementing code modifications, and supporting application testing and production activities.

The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and resolving production incidents, collaborating with distributed teams and architects, and contributing to Mainframe modernization initiatives. The role will also involve supporting automation and DevOps practices where applicable, along with migration and integration activities involving modern technologies.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform impact analysis to understand the effect of application changes and implement the required code modifications.
• Design and execute unit testing and integration testing to validate application changes.
• Analyze production incidents, identify issues, and implement appropriate resolutions.
• Support both batch and online processing systems.
• Collaborate with distributed development teams and architects for application development and technical activities.
• Participate in Mainframe modernization initiatives and contribute to related application changes.
• Implement automation and DevOps practices where applicable within the Mainframe environment.
• Assist with migration activities and integration of Mainframe applications with modern technologies.
  
  

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Good working knowledge of REXX for Mainframe application and processing requirements.
• Experience working with Endevor/Changeman for Mainframe change and code management.
• Hands-on experience with File-Aid for Mainframe application support and data-related activities.
• Strong knowledge of IBM Mainframe utilities.
• Experience working with Mainframe batch and online processing systems.
  
  

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience working on Mainframe modernization initiatives.
• Exposure to APIs and their integration with Mainframe applications.
• Exposure to hybrid architecture and integration between Mainframe and modern technologies.
• Experience with automation and DevOps practices in a Mainframe environment.
