About The Role

We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer who is deeply hands-on, highly accountable, and a recognized technical role model for platform and DevOps engineers. This role operates at the intersection of platform reliability, cloud engineering, and operational excellence, with a strong expectation of independent incident leadership, architectural ownership, and effective cross-team collaboration.

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you are expected to set the technical bar, lead from the front during critical incidents, and consistently demonstrate best practices in system design, automation, and operational rigor. Engineers should look to you for technical guidance, pragmatic decision-making, and calm leadership during high-pressure situations.

The Team

Join a high-performing Platform & DevOps engineering team within our Enterprise Solutions division. The team focuses on modernizing cloud infrastructure, streamlining delivery, and building highly reliable, scalable platform capabilities used across products.

The Impact

You will directly influence the stability, scalability, security, and operability of AWS-hosted Market Products platforms across both Private and Public Markets. Your leadership in incident response and continuous platform evolution will drive faster recovery times, improved reliability, and stronger engineering ownership. By setting clear technical standards and leading by example, you will help build a resilient engineering culture focused on learning, accountability, and long-term operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Platform, DevOps & Cloud Engineering

  • Design, build, and own scalable, secure platform infrastructure on AWS (EC2, IAM, EKS/ECS, S3, VPC, CloudWatch, Storage).
  • Define and standardize platform patterns for computer, networking, deployments, and observability.
  • Build, enhance, and architect CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
  • Lead Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, including modules, state management, conventions, and governance.
  • Own container orchestration platforms (Docker, ECS/EKS), including networking, upgrades, resilience, and reliability.

Automation & Engineering Excellence

  • Design and develop automation-first solutions using Python, Shell, PowerShell, or Go.
  • Build internal tooling for deployments, operational housekeeping, diagnostics, and self-service capabilities.
  • Drive clean, modular, and reusable automation patterns that can be adopted and extended across teams.

Observability, Monitoring & Reliability

  • Own observability standards using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
  • Define and enforce SLIs, SLOs, alert thresholds, and alert noise reduction strategies.
  • Ensure deep visibility into system health, performance bottlenecks, and failure modes.
  • Continuously improve alert quality so incidents are actionable, fast, and predictable.

Incident Management & Operational Ownership

  • Independently lead P1/P2 production incidents including triage, mitigation, decision-making, and recovery.
  • Act as the technical leader during incidents, not merely a coordinator.
  • Own incident response workflows using PagerDuty, OpsGenie, and ServiceNow.
  • Lead post-incident reviews (PIRs) and drive durable corrective and preventative actions.
  • Continuously improve runbooks, automation, and operational readiness based on real incident learnings.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with application, QA, security, and product teams to ensure stable environments and smooth releases.
  • Clearly communicate risks, trade-offs, architectural decisions, and incident status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Influence teams through technical credibility, clarity, consistency, and trust rather than hierarchy.

Operational Excellence

  • Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and performance tuning across platforms.
  • Lead proofs of concept for new DevOps, platform, and automation technologies.
  • Advocate continuous improvement in platform reliability, security posture, and engineering maturity.

AIOps & MLOps Exposure

  • Awareness of AIOps concepts such as anomaly detection, alert correlation, and predictive insights.
  • Exposure to MLOps pipelines including model deployment and containerized ML workloads
