Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Staff Engineer to join a high-impact software product engineering team in Hyderabad. This is a senior individual contributor role where you will drive architectural decisions, lead complex technical initiatives, and deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions using Java and modern cloud technologies. You will work across the full stack of engineering — from system design to deployment pipelines — and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust, production-grade software.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop high-performance, scalable, and transactional software systems using Java and Spring ecosystem.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to system design decisions across microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Design and troubleshoot transactional systems with a focus on reliability, consistency, and performance.
• Build and maintain microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Java EE frameworks.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and event-driven architectures using Pub/Sub and Dataflow.
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) in native and hybrid cloud environments.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, Nexus, and DevOps best practices.
• Translate user stories and business requirements into scalable, user-centric technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Business teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion engineering best practices across the team.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• 9+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java – Primary Skill.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, system design, and concurrent programming.
• Expertise in designing and troubleshooting transactional and distributed systems.
• Deep experience with microservices architecture, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, and Java EE.
• Proficiency in databases — Oracle, PostgreSQL, BigTable, BigQuery, and NoSQL.
• Hands-on experience with GCP and/or AWS in native and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with event-driven systems using Pub/Sub and Dataflow.
• Strong command of DevOps toolchain — Docker, Kubernetes, Nexus, Maven, and Git.
• Proficient with Java IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse) and scripting formats (JSON, XML, YAML, Terraform).
• Experience with application servers such as Tomcat and Linux-based environments.
• Skilled in multi-tenant cloud technologies and project management tools like Jira.
• Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
