Job Title: IBDP Psychology Facilitator

Department: International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)

Reports To: IBDP Coordinator / Head of School

Location: School Campus

Job Summary

The IBDP Psychology Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching of IB Diploma Programme Psychology (SL & HL) in alignment with the standards of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The facilitator will help students understand human behavior through scientific methods, critical thinking, and research-based learning while preparing them for IB assessments.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Teach IBDP Psychology (SL & HL) as per IB curriculum guidelines.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons using inquiry-based and research-driven teaching strategies.
  • Facilitate discussions on biological, cognitive, and sociocultural approaches to behavior.
  • Encourage critical thinking, research skills, and ethical understanding in psychology.
  • Integrate real-life case studies and psychological research into lessons.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design formative and summative assessments aligned with IB standards.
  • Guide students in completing Internal Assessments (IA) (Experimental Study).
  • Prepare students for IB external examinations.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and track student progress.

Curriculum & Planning

  • Develop unit plans aligned with IB Psychology syllabus requirements.
  • Collaborate with IB faculty to ensure interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Stay updated with IB Psychology curriculum changes.
  • Maintain documentation required for IB programme standards.

Student Support

  • Guide students in research methodology and experimental design.
  • Support students working on Extended Essays (Psychology).
  • Encourage ethical research practices and academic integrity.
  • Provide mentorship and academic guidance.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend IB workshops and professional development programs.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Uphold school policies and IB standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology (Mandatory).
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (Preferred).
  • IB training or certification in Psychology (Preferred).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching IBDP Psychology or equivalent international curriculum.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of psychological theories and research methods.
  • Familiarity with IB Psychology assessment criteria.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to guide students in research and experimental studies.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking facilitation skills.
  • Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience guiding Extended Essays (Psychology).
  • Experience supervising Internal Assessments (IA).
  • Exposure to international curricula such as IB or Cambridge.
