HIH - Accounting Lead Analyst

Position Summary

Cigna Investment Management (CIM) manages over $25 billion in assets on behalf of Cigna, a publicly traded global health services company.  CIM’s assets are invested in public bonds, private placement securities, commercial mortgages, real estate equity, mezzanine debt, private equity, equity securities, warrants, commercial paper, certificates of deposit, municipal securities, mutual fund shares, United States government securities, options contracts on securities, futures contracts on intangibles, money market funds, derivatives, structured notes, exchange traded funds and hedge funds.

Evernorth seeks a detail-oriented Investment Accounting Lead Analyst for our Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad. This role supports accurate, timely, and compliant investment accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have solid foundational US GAAP expertise, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative mindset to support global financial operations.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

• Process Execution & Documentation: Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, NAIC Statutory and company policies.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with team members across global locations and functions.
• Audit Support: Provide information and documentation for internal and external audits as requested.
• Issue Resolution: Identify and help resolve routine issues, escalating complex matters to management.
• Change Management & Continuous Improvement: Support process enhancements and stay updated on accounting practices and technologies.
• Operational Support: Participate in financial close and reporting activities, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
• Process Excellence: Suggest improvements and support automation initiatives.

• Support the execution of well-controlled processes, focusing on established controls.
• Seek opportunities to automate controls and improve efficiency.
• Assist in maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5 – 8 years of experience in financial accounting or operations.
• Basic understanding of US GAAP reporting (required).
• General knowledge of US NAIC statutory reporting (preferred, not required).
• Experience in investment accounting (preferred, not required).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite) and reporting tools (Hyperion, Oracle EPM) (required).
• Experience with Investment Accounting systems (Midland Enterprise!, YARDI, SS&C Singularity, State Street PAM) (preferred, not required).
• Familiarity with Tableau, PowerBi, SQL, Alteryx, Python/R, and Workiva (preferred).
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Shift Timings: 2.30pm IST to 11.30pm IST (Hybrid Model)
