The Position
Job Description The SAP GBT (Global Batch Tracing) Solution Consultant leads complex ERP solution delivery, proactively solves product issues, and contributes to architecture. In this role, you will be the architect of our product genealogy, ensuring seamless end-to-end traceability across our complex global network. You will design, implement, and optimize SAP GBT solutions that allow Roche to respond with agility to regulatory requirements and quality events, ensuring our life-saving medicines reach patients with uncompromised integrity.
Key Job Responsibilities
Lead functional design, configuration, and implementation activities for SAP GBT solutions across manufacturing and supply chain operations
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solutions
Configure and support SAP modules related to batch traceability, inventory management, warehouse management, procurement, and manufacturing integration
Support end-to-end batch genealogy, recall management, and product traceability processes
Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations including FDA, GxP, DSCSA, and global serialization requirements
Conduct fit-gap analysis, solution workshops, and process mapping sessions
Develop functional specifications and coordinate with technical teams for custom developments and integrations
Participate in testing activities including SIT, UAT, regression testing, and validation documentation
Provide production support, issue resolution, and continuous process improvement recommendations
Support data migration, cutover planning, and hypercare activities during deployments
Create user training materials and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for business users
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
7+ years of SAP functional consulting experience with at least 3 years focused on SAP GBT or batch traceability solutions. including full-cycle implementations
Strong experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments
Hands-on expertise in SAP modules such as PP, SD, MM, QM
Experience with SAP WM/EWM and ATTP is highly preferred
Experience working in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry
Strong understanding of regulated manufacturing and compliance requirements
Experience with serialization, batch management, and product recall processes
Experience with SAP IDocs, ALE, and RFC for data transfer between multiple SAP and non-SAP instances
Ability to lead workshops and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working in global delivery or matrixed environments
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP certification in relevant logistics or supply chain modules
Experience with SAP ATTP, SAP ICH, or other traceability and compliance platforms
Familiarity with validation processes and CSV documentation in regulated environments
Knowledge of Agile and SAP Activate methodologies
Experience integrating SAP with MES, LIMS, or third-party warehouse systems
Additional Qualifications
Strong collaboration and inclusion mindset, capable of resolving conflicts at the team level and fostering effective teamwork across project work-streams
High level of self-direction and initiative, with the ability and willingness to learn in a self-directed fashion to stay informed on new technologies and concepts
Experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations involving GBT
Knowledge of GS1 standards and serialization (SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals - ATTP)
Prior experience working in a large-scale, global pharmaceutical or biotech environment
