What You Do (responsibilities)
Leads an engineering team to deliver software solutions that meet customer needs.
Collaborates with Product Management and User Experience to design and deliver new product features - advises on technology and solution options.
Executes efficient engineering processes, ensuring the team is operating with high velocity while still delivering quality software solutions.
Facilitates agile ceremonies (planning, daily standups, retrospectives) for the team. Makes recommendations for process improvements across the organization.
Mentors and coaches engineers as they grow in their skills and capabilities. Applies technical expertise to review work and provide timely coaching for growth.
Leads the engineering team in estimation and sizing of work to assist in building a plan for delivery.
Guides the team in developing high-quality, secure, compliant, robust, performant, and reliable systems
Interacts with Support and Customer Success teams to ensure that Issues are understood and resolved in a timely manner.
Leads recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes and experiences for team members joining team.
Drives performance management practices, including setting clear goals, conducting regular check-ins, and leading the annual review cycle to support employee growth and accountability
Provides direction to employees to ensure compliance with corporate policies.
May provide oversight for consultants and vendors
Performs other duties as require
What You Need (qualifications)
Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience also considered
10+ years of engineering experience with 2+ years experience in managing teams
Mandatory experience: strong full-stack engineering background with recent experience managing full-stack teams (preferably, .NET), along with experience managing mobile teams (iOS, Android, or React Native).
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework
Experience delivering SaaS solutions to customers
Experience with development platforms, technologies, and tools: cloud-native/AWS, Microsoft, SQL Server
Ability to rollup the sleeve as needed with ability to code with the team
Experience with software architecture and design patterns
Experience with software testing and test automation
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and security throughout the software engineering lifecycle
Strong leadership skills, servant leadership for team
Exceptional written and oral communication when interacting with audiences of both technical and non-technical backgrounds
Excellent strategic planning and project management skills.
Able to demonstrate experience building and growing software engineering teams
