Job Summary
The Drums Facilitator is responsible for teaching drum techniques and rhythm skills to students across different grade levels. The facilitator will develop students’ musical abilities, coordination, rhythm sense, and performance confidence while supporting school music programs and events.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Teach drum techniques to students of various age groups and skill levels.
Develop structured lesson plans for beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners.
Teach rhythm patterns, beats, timing, coordination, and basic music theory.
Train students in proper posture, stick control, and drum kit handling.
Introduce students to reading rhythm notation and counting beats.
Student Development
Prepare students for school performances, concerts, and competitions.
Train students to perform individually and in group ensembles or bands.
Provide individual guidance and feedback to improve performance skills.
Encourage discipline, regular practice, and musical confidence.
Curriculum & Planning
Design age-appropriate drum learning modules.
Select suitable rhythm exercises and performance pieces.
Maintain records of student progress and skill development.
Collaborate with music faculty for integrated music programs.
Performance & Event Support
Support school assemblies, annual day programs, and cultural events.
Assist in organizing musical performances and rehearsals.
Prepare students for stage performances and live shows.
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain drum kits and percussion instruments in good condition.
Ensure safe handling of instruments and equipment.
Participate in staff meetings and school activities.
Stay updated with modern drumming techniques and teaching methods.
Qualifications
Diploma or Certification in Drums / Percussion / Music (Preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree in Music or Performing Arts (Preferred).
Minimum 1–3 years of experience teaching drums in schools, music academies, or institutes.
Skills & Competencies
Strong proficiency in drum kit and percussion instruments.
Good understanding of rhythm patterns and music theory basics.
Ability to teach students of different age groups and abilities.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to train students for performances and stage presentations.
Passion for music and student development.
Preferred Experience
Experience in school band training.
Ability to teach various drumming styles (rock, pop, classical, fusion, etc.).
Experience preparing students for concerts and competitions.
