The Data Trust & Integrity team is responsible for strengthening how data is governed, owned, controlled, classified and monitored across Entain.

As a Data Engineer within the Data Trust & Integrity (DTI) team, you will help implement Entain's data governance and cataloguing platforms. Your role will have a hands-on, and you will also manage the daily operation of these platforms. You will work with our teams to onboard data sources, automate data discovery and classification, and maintain the tooling that supports data quality, lineage, semantic identification, and PII protection across the organisation.

Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, you'll help strengthen Entain's data governance capabilities through automation, data quality, metadata management, and cloud data technologies. You will be a hybrid model.

Main Responsibilities

• Data Discovery & Onboarding: Configure Precisely Data Integrity Suite and connect to Snowflake and other data sources; perform profiling and troubleshoot authentication, networking, and platform connectivity.
• Snowflake & Database Engineering: Work with Snowflake roles, grants, warehouses, scaling, and compute optimisation to balance performance and cost.
• AWS Infrastructure: Support AWS services including EC2, S3, and Amazon Bedrock that underpin the data platform.
• Data Classification: Develop and maintain semantic types and rules to identify PII and sensitive data while improving classification accuracy.
• Automation: Develop Python scripts and API-based automation to manage metadata and data assets at scale.
• Metadata & Catalogue: Maintain the Business Glossary, Acronym Bible, Data Dictionary, and associated metadata.
• Data Quality & Governance: Support data lineage, data quality rules, data debt management, and governance controls through the Data Control Framework (DCF).
• AI & Automation: Leverage AI tools to accelerate scripting, data analysis, documentation, classification, and data quality activities while validating outputs.
• Collaboration: Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Governance, Engineering, and business teams to deliver data quality reporting, dashboards, and governance improvements.

• 4+ years of experience with Snowflake and database technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly EC2 and S3.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, and PII classification.
• Strong Python and API automation skills.
• Experience with Precisely Data Integrity Suite or similar tools is desirable.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
