Blackbaud is the world’s leading cloud software company powering social good. We provide software, services, expertise, and data intelligence that empower and connect people to drive impact for nonprofits, foundations, corporations, education institutions, healthcare organizations, and individual change agents.
As part of our growing Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, we are seeking a Corporate Legal Manager / Senior Legal Manager – Legal & Compliance to support our India operations and act as a liaison with our law department in the United States.
What Youll Do
- Provide day-to-day legal support to Blackbaud’s India operations, including employment and HR matters, compliance, commercial contracting, and corporate governance. This role is intentionally broad and requires someone who enjoys working across multiple legal disciplines rather than focusing narrowly on one specialty.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (vendor contracts, technology services, SaaS agreements, procurement arrangements).
- Advise on Indian regulatory and compliance requirements, including data privacy, labor law, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, and corporate secretarial matters.
- Serve as a liaison between Blackbaud’s India business and the U.S.-based law department, ensuring alignment on global legal strategy.
- Support corporate governance and secretarial compliance for Indian entities.
- Partner with HR/People & Culture on employment law issues and employee relations.
- Assist in developing and delivering training on compliance and contracting best practices.
- Coordinate with and manage external counsel in India when specialized expertise is required.
- Lean into innovation, including the use of AI‑enabled tools, to improve efficiency and enhance the delivery of legal services.
What Youll Bring
- Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) from a recognized Indian university; LL.M. or international legal training a plus.
- 10-15 years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house counsel roles in the technology, SaaS, or services sector.
- Strong knowledge of Indian corporate, commercial, and employment law; exposure to cross-border legal issues is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive, business-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- A genuine interest in being a legal generalist — comfortable shifting between employment, compliance, commercial, and governance issues in a single day.
- Curiosity and willingness to embrace AI adoption in the legal function, with an openness to experimenting with new technologies that can enhance productivity and insight.
