At Amazon we believe that every day is still day 1. We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our disability management team supporting our Mental Health Wellness (MHW) cases. This is an in office job located in Hyderabad, India.

Join Amazons Disability Leave Services (DLS) team in building a world-class program delivering leave of absence, disability, and accommodation services globally. As a Clinical Analyst – MHW, youll serve as a vital mental health resource, managing complex cases and ensuring optimal outcomes for both employees and the organization. The “Clinical Analyst – MHW”, serves as a clinical resource assisting the case managers, providing clinical recommendations and co-management activities on STD and Accommodation claims that have a primary disabling behavioral health diagnosis.

This role will provide clinical expertise and serve as a critical link between leaves case managers and Accommodation specialists involved in disability and accommodation MHW cases. This role will facilitate medically sound decisions from a clinical perspective, ensure absence and disability claims are administered optimally, and deliver exceptional employee experience. Key component in this role is strong self-management skills, a desire to knowledge share and an ability to translate medical consultation into favorable results for the company and employees.

The Mental Health Clinicians are expected to have a strong clinical knowledge, understanding of ICD-10, DSM–5 diagnostic codes, understand how medical/Behavioral conditions impact functionality impairment and capacity and how it impacts the essential job functions of the employees at Amazon (Ability to apply clinical knowledge for absence management). In this role you will have the ability to effectively leverage upon your clinical expertise, translate this expertise into consultations that will assist Amazon and our employees in successfully returning to work with or without medical accommodation(s) of work restrictions.

Key job responsibilities

Clinical Expertise & Case Management

• Provide expert mental health case evaluations and clinical case management services across the DLS organization
• Serve as clinical subject matter expert for disability, leave and accommodation case managers
• Conduct clinical analyses focusing on functional impairment and work capacity assessment
• Co-manage complex behavioral health claims requiring specialized clinical expertise
• Perform provider and or employee interviews and analyze clinical documentation
• Develop and negotiate return-to-work plans with stakeholders
  
  

Collaboration & Partnership

• Partner with case managers to optimize case management processes and outcomes
• Build and maintain relationships with treating providers to:
• Clarify clinical information
• Understand recommended restrictions and limitations
• Assess functional impairment severity
• Facilitate return-to-work planning
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers at all levels
• Communicate effectively with Amazon internal and external partners
  
  

Professional Development & Process Improvement

• Deliver continuing education through mini-clinical lectures on behavioral health case management
• Contribute to the development of clinical tools, templates, and protocols
• Support process improvements under Clinical leadership guidance

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10% domestic and/or international travel
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Masters degree
• Master’s or higher degree in Behavioral Health field, e.g. MSW, MA or MS in counseling, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
• 3+ years clinical work experience
• Current, active, and unrestricted license
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CLMS, CCM or CDMS certification
• 2+ years disability management experience (STD/LTD claims)
• Knowledge of U.S. FMLA and state related FML, ADAAA, ERISA, EEOC, OFCCP regulations
• Utilization review experience
• Experience in large organizational settings
