Category Manager Senior

Position SUMMARY

This is an on-site hybrid role based out of Hyderabad or Pune.

This position reports to Director of Supply Chain India region and is responsible for Indirect & Logistics Category management & Sourcing for India region. We are seeking a results-driven Indirect Procurement Category Manager to lead procurement and supplier management efforts across critical indirect & logistics spend categories. It reports to the Director of Supply Chain India Region. This role will focus on driving value, cost optimization, and operational efficiency within categories including Energy, Staffing/Contingent Labor, Professional services, IT-TELECOM, Packaging, Utilities, Facility Services, Equipment Rentals and Purchases, Industrial Equipment Maintenance (MRO) & Logistics.

The ideal candidate brings strong sourcing expertise within industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or multi-site operational environments and can effectively partner with internal stakeholders to deliver strategic sourcing outcomes.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for indirect and logistics spend categories.
• Develop and execute category strategies.
• Manage RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities.
  
  

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Operations, Finance, Facilities, Maintenance, Trade compliance, legal department, global / regional category managers, regional supply chain managers and Plant teams.
• Align sourcing strategies with business requirements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to indirect spend.
  
  

Cost Savings & Project Management

• Lead productivity and cost-reduction projects.
• Drive supplier consolidation and spend optimization.
• Support qualification of new suppliers and sourcing initiatives.
• Act as the key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders
  
  

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contracts.
• Monitor supplier risks and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze spend data and market trends to drive continuous improvement.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, service levels, and supplier performance Identify and onboard qualified suppliers; manage RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving continuous improvement and accountability through performance metrics Analyze spend data and market trends to identify savings opportunities and process improvements Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and risk management protocols Support budgeting and forecasting efforts related to indirect spend categories To be able to perform Spend Analysis, Commodity Analysis, Supply Risk management collaborating with Internal and External Stakeholders.  Develop strategies to ensure cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded.  Assess, manage, and mitigate Supply and contract related risks Comply with Rexnord Purchasing Ethics and Code of Conduct.  Success Metrics

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  
  

Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in Indirect Purchase.
• Logistics functional expertise is preferred
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 50%;

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Project Management Certification, Supply Chain Certifications will be a plus.
