Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using point-of-sale systems.
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
• Greet customers warmly and answer their questions regarding products and services.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
• Provide assistance and information to customers to enhance their shopping experience.
• Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly and with professionalism.
• Bag purchased items carefully ensuring they are protected during transit.
• Verify customer identification when necessary for purchases involving restricted products.
• Count and reconcile cash in the register drawer at the start and end of shifts.
• Participate in inventory counts and assist with stock replenishment duties.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Promote store loyalty programs and any ongoing promotions to increase sales.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred for this role.
• Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service is beneficial.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail in processing transactions.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a retail environment.
