BSE - MS SQL - L2

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing and supporting MS SQL Database including Failover Cluster, Always ON Setup and new server provisioning, Transaction replication, Link Servers, Hardening, and patching in day-to-day operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor generated log and event files indicating errors that will result in an incident
• DR Database availability Monitoring
• Monitor database log replication
• Report Status of Log Replications as per agreed schedules
• Session/Query/Log/Latch monitoring
• Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate an imminent failure
• Purging database Logs and trace files
• Periodic config review to maintain consistent configurations
• Review and recommendation to maintain availability
• Monthly report on database availability
• Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate imminent failure.
• Reinstall Database software
• Reconfigure log Shipping
• Transaction replication Configuration
• Link Servers configuration
• Failover clustering
• Always ON
• Responding to database related incidents and driving corrective action
• Tuning DB parameters
• Correlate related incidents together into a problem ticket and manage through the problem
  
  

• Use trend analysis to identify, detail, categorize, prioritize and create Problems Management
  
  

• Restoration of database
• Creating jobs/job schedule for routine/Maintenance jobs & Rebuilding of indexes
• Purging database Logs and trace files & Performance Management
• Defragmentation of Database and performance tuning
• Manage all Service requests through the change management process
• Automate administration tasks where possible
• Manage and update all Database environment documentation
