Backend Engineer

Salary range: Rs 2000000 - Rs 2500000 (ie INR 20-25 LPA)

Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one functional module of the system or service
• Accountable for the design and quality of the service owned as the SME
• Maintain a say/do ratio greater than 95% in execution
• Conduct code reviews and act as the quality gatekeeper for the SME domain
• Provide assistance and mentorship to junior team members
• Ensure enforcement of code reviews and adequate test coverage
• Guarantee that no regressions occur in the modules under ownership
• Participate in interview panels and contribute to organizational growth
  
  

• Minimum of 7 years overall experience in application development using Java, including creating and deploying microservices with the Spring Boot framework
• Strong experience with unit testing (JUnit) and integration testing
• Proven expertise in Microservices development is essential
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing RESTful services and microservices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience with at least one database technology such as MongoDB, MariaDB, RabbitMQ, Postgres, or other NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with AWS and CI/CD pipelines
• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs
• Collaborate with frontend developers to seamlessly integrate user-facing components with backend logic
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to best practices and coding standards
• Optimize system performance and ensure high availability of backend services
• Demonstrate versatility, proactivity, and full ownership of assigned work
• Rapidly understand the technology stack, services, and workflows; effectively solve problems; and contribute to daily operations as well as long-term improvements
• Troubleshoot incidents, write new code, and implement additional features
• Implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate vulnerabilities
• Design and manage databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient querying
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in both production and development environments
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Stay informed about emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and assist in sprint planning and estimation
