AVP - Software Engineer

Join our Client Reporting team, which supports the Macquarie Asset Management business globally in delivering reporting solutions to our clients. We provide clients with access to accurate, flexible, automated, and scalable reporting through the Vermilion reporting platform. In this role, you will work alongside product owners, business analysts, engineers, business SMEs, various service owners, and support teams, with a key focus on driving scalability and continuously delivering business outcomes

What role will you play?

As a Software Developer, you will collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Youll work with a variety of modern technologies, all built on our cloud-based infrastructure. You’ll contribute to our modern and collaborative engineering team using CI/CD, code quality, and monitoring. Youll build data and control pipelines across a variety of technologies (Python, JavaScript, and AWS) using event-driven messaging and APIs. You will be empowered to research, evaluate, and present recommendations for innovative technologies and frameworks.

What You Offer

• Technical Leadership skills and mentoring the junior with proven engineering knowledge and experience of 10-13 years with the ability to work in Python using AWS to build data pipelines and microservices.
• Working knowledge of relational databases with SQL and/or non-relational databases. Good to have Java microservices experience.
• Understanding of Design Patterns, Testing methodologies, and the overall SDLC.
• Good CI/CD experience.
• Comfortable proposing designs, gathering feedback from others, building solutions with reusability in mind, and documenting/explaining how the solution works.
• Comprehension of security, including authentication and authorization.
• Familiarity with Linux, Shell Scripting, load balancing, and basic networking.
