About The Role
Role Description:
In this crucial role on the Amgen Lab Technology team for Process Development (PD), you will be responsible for the supporting and maintaining the Electronic Lab Notebook Software application managing issue resolution while ensuring outstanding customer support as well as monitoring system availability and performance. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and software development engineers to advance capabilities for the Amgen PD’s Electronic Lab Notebook Platform, Chromatography data systems as well as expand the PD Instruments connectivity via the Instrument Data Acquisition (IDA) capability.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work with the CDS product team to support the lifecycle of CDS platform software (Empower/Chromeleon/Unicorn)
Develop documentation and standard operating procedures for various lifecycle processes
Work with vendors to secure the latest version of CDS software, driver packs, patches and other software packages
Work with other Amgen infrastructure teams to stand up various infrastructure environments (DEV/TEST/PROD) in the cloud or on-prem
Provide support and fix for all CDS platforms
Perform testing and develop migration strategies for all CDS platforms
CDS software patching and compliance – ensure CDS platforms are secure and patched
Monitor, solve, and resolve issues related to case intake and case processing across ELN and IDA systems.
Work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and business partners to address dependencies and resolve bottlenecks for critical issues
Contribute to the development and execution of test plans and scenarios to ensure robust testing strategies
Support regression & functional testing activities to verify the changes do not negatively impact existing system functionality
Analyze and understand the functional & technical requirements of applications, solutions and systems, translate them into software architecture and design specifications.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience or related field
Functional Skills:
Strong knowledge of Software Design and Development information systems and network technologies.
Extensive expertise in SDLC, including requirements, design, testing, data analysis, creating and managing change controls.
Proficiency in programming languages such as .Net, Python, JavaScript etc.
Thorough understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Partner with vendors and other team members to solve problems, test new software versions, and secure long-term solutions against the CDS platforms
Good-to-Have Skills:
Experience working in the Pharma and Biotech Industry
Familiarity with developing software in a GxP regulated environment
Familiarity with relational databases (such as MySQL, SQL server, PostgreSQL etc.)
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript or other programming languages
Experience with API integrations such as MuleSoft.
Hands-on experience on reporting tools such as Tableau, Spotfire & Power BI.
Soft Skills:
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams.
Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
