Scope And Responsibilities
The India Entity Finance Analyst will support the accounting, statutory compliance, tax, audit, and control requirements of Oaktree’s India-based entities. This role is intended for a Chartered Accountant who will work closely with the India Entity Controller, external advisors, and the Hyderabad finance team to support accurate books, timely compliance, and audit readiness for India legal entities.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Legal Entity Accounting & Financial Close
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for India entities, including preparation of schedules, working papers, and statutory books support.
- Assist in maintaining accounting records in line with Indian GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements, including support for period-end accruals, provisions, and related balances.
- Prepare and review key reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and other balance sheet schedules, to support accurate and well-substantiated financial reporting.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Support GST, withholding tax, and corporate tax compliance activities, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and coordination with internal teams and external advisors.
- Assist with tax assessments, notices, audits, and related documentation requirements for India entities.
- Support STPI and other export-related compliance requirements, including documentation and periodic reporting, as applicable to the operating model of the India entities.
Audit, Controls & Compliance Support
- Support statutory, tax, group, and internal audits through preparation of schedules, supporting documentation, and responses for assigned areas.
- Assist in managing annual and ongoing statutory compliance activities in coordination with external compliance partners and internal stakeholders.
- Support internal financial controls and help track compliance deliverables, audit observations, and action items.
Stakeholder Coordination & Process Support
- Work closely with the Hyderabad accounting team, auditors, advisors, and service providers to support timely completion of accounting and compliance activities.
- Assist in maintaining compliance calendars, trackers, and process documentation for India entity finance activities.
- Support smooth coordination of activities managed through external providers, while ensuring appropriate internal oversight and follow-up.
Experience Required
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 0–3 years of post-qualification experience (strong articleship in audit/tax/finance also considered).
- Hands-on experience in legal entity accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting under Indian GAAP / Companies Act.
- Practical exposure to India tax and regulatory compliance, including GST, TDS, and corporate tax, with coordination with external advisors.
- Experience supporting statutory audits and internal controls, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
- Strong reconciliation and analysis skills
- Advance Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint ability to work with new tools
- Experience with Workiva and Workday financials is a plus

Education
- A Chartered Accountant with 0-3 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
