Job Summary

The Sourcing Advisory Analyst supports the identification, tracking, and analysis of product cost opportunities across the merchandising organization. This role leverages data, analytics, market intelligence, and reporting tools to provide actionable insights that improve product profitability and support sourcing and category management strategies.

Working closely with Category Management, Finance, and Strategic Sourcing partners, the Advisory Analyst develops reporting solutions, maintains cost tracking repositories, and conducts analytical assessments of commodity, freight, currency, and vendor cost drivers. This role plays a key part in enabling data-driven decision making through fact-based analysis and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Analytics & Opportunity Identification: Analyze product cost structures, vendor pricing behavior, commodity trends, and sourcing opportunities to identify value creation opportunities and support cost optimization initiatives.
• Reporting & Dashboard Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and visual analytics that improve visibility into cost change behaviors, savings performance, and sourcing initiatives.
• Data Management & Governance: Build and manage analytical repositories, cost databases, and tracking mechanisms to ensure accurate historical records of negotiations, sourcing projects, savings initiatives, and business outcomes.
• Business Partner Support: Collaborate with Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, and cross functional teams to provide analytical support for negotiations, planning activities, and decision-making processes.
• Market & Commodity Intelligence: Monitor external market indicators, commodity indices, freight trends, currency movements, and supplier developments to assess potential impacts on product cost and gross margin performance.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct quantitative analyses and develop management-ready insights to support special projects, vendor discussions, category reviews, and leadership requests.
  
  

Qualifications

• Data & Reporting Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, or related analytical tools.

• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to effectively communicate insights and partner with stakeholders across multiple functional areas.

Experience, And Education

• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in analytics, finance, sourcing, merchandising, supply chain, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Education: Masters in Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related discipline; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
