Job Description

Job Summary

To ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality are maintained across all production processes and products in compliance with FSSAI regulations and internal standards. The Quality Manager will lead the QA team and ensure consistent product quality, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control:

Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes and standards for all bakery and food items.

Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Review and approve SOPs, specifications, and quality parameters for all products.

Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure factory complies with all relevant food safety laws and regulations (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO).

Prepare for and manage internal and external quality audits.

Team Management

Supervise and train the QA/QC team and production staff on quality and hygiene practices.

Create awareness among the team about food safety, personal hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of quality checks, customer complaints, audit results, and corrective actions.

Generate weekly and monthly quality reports and submit them to senior management.

Customer Complaint Handling

Investigate quality-related complaints from retail outlets or customers and ensure prompt corrective action.

Continuous Improvement

Identify gaps in processes and lead initiatives to improve product consistency and shelf life.

Implement new technologies or testing methods to enhance quality standards.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and food safety standards.

Experience in bakery, QSR, FMCG, or food processing industry preferred.

Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership, training, and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualification & Experience

Bachelors / Masters degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or relevant field.

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in food quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Working Conditions

Based at KS Bakers Factory; may require travel to retail outlets for quality audits.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed.
