Keka is a modern people platform for growing enterprises. HR, payroll and talent live in one core system, so teams spend less time on admin and more time on their people. More than 12,500 companies trust Keka, from fast-growing small businesses to large enterprises and global companies with teams across borders.
We build software the way HR actually works. It feels human, sets up in days instead of months, and has AI built into every part of HR. With customers across India, the US and the Middle East, our Finance and Planning team is growing fast to keep up. That is where this role comes in.
About The Role
We're hiring an Associate Product Manager to help own US Payroll. You'll work on the features that make sure every US employee and contractor is paid accurately and on time, and that taxes, deductions and benefits are handled correctly. It's a role for someone early in their product career who wants to go deep into a hard, high-stakes domain and grow fast.
What You'll Do
Own features across the US payroll run: pay schedules, regular and off-cycle payrolls, approvals, payroll funding and data checks that keep payroll on time.
Work on tax setup, employee and contractor tax documents (W-2, 1099), deductions and garnishments.
Help improve integrations with benefits providers (such as 401(k) and health insurance) and accounting tools (such as QuickBooks).
Write clear PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria, and work closely with Engineering and Design to ship reliable features.
Talk to US payroll admins and customers. Understand their workflows and pain points and turn them into clear product priorities.
Work with CX, Implementation and Support to understand escalations, find root causes, and fix recurring themes for good.
Work with partner teams to understand their APIs and behaviour, and raise and track issues that affect our customers.
Define success metrics for what you ship, track adoption and correctness, and improve based on data.
What You'll Bring
1–2 years of experience in product management, product analysis, business analysis or a similar role in B2B SaaS. Strong freshers with relevant internships are welcome to apply.
Any exposure to finance, fintech, payments, accounting, payroll or HR tech is a strong plus. So is any work with US customers or US-market products.
A CA, CA-Inter, CPA, CFA or finance degree is a bonus but not required.
Domain & customer
Curious about money, tax and how payroll works: you enjoy understanding the rules behind how people get paid, and you want to go deep, not just manage tickets.
Learns fast: you've picked up something complex quickly before, and can explain it simply to others.
Customer-led thinking: you're comfortable talking to users, asking good questions, and finding the real problem behind a request.
Product craft
Attention to detail: in payroll, small mistakes matter. You think through edge cases and write clear acceptance criteria.
Structured thinking: you can break a messy problem into clear parts, prioritise, and explain your reasoning.
Comfortable with data: basic SQL, spreadsheets or dashboards. You like checking whether something actually worked after launch.
Clear communication: you write crisply and can keep engineering, design, support and customers on the same page.
Engineering partnership
Technically curious: you're comfortable reading API documentation and understanding how data moves between systems, or you're keen to learn quickly.
Owns quality: you test what you ship, and when something breaks, you help find the root cause and push for a lasting fix.
A good partner to Engineering: you work through disagreements with evidence and customer outcomes, and you're open to changing your mind.
Ways of working
Uses AI tools to learn faster, research, and work more efficiently.
Open to working with US customers and partners, including some calls in US hours when needed.
