Job Description

Job Requirements

At Quest Global, it’s not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different. With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.

Role Summary

We are looking for a 3D content engineer who has built a strong foundation in traditional 3D content creation (3ds Max, Maya, Blender) and has since moved into building simulation-ready robot assets in NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim. This role focuses on converting robot CAD/3D assets into simulation-ready digital twins — creating URDF/USD models, setting up joints and articulation, and configuring physics properties so robots behave correctly in simulation.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize 3D assets (robot bodies, end-effectors, environment/scene assets) for use in NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim.
  • Convert CAD or raw 3D models into simulation-ready formats, building and validating URDF/USD robot descriptions.
  • Configure joints, articulation, kinematic chains, and degrees of freedom for robot links so they move correctly in simulation.
  • Set up physics properties — mass, inertia, collision geometry, friction, joint limits/drives — for realistic, stable robot behaviour.
  • Build and maintain reusable asset libraries and scene templates (rooms, props, manipulation objects) for synthetic data generation.
  • Apply PBR materials, texturing, UV mapping, and scene composition to keep assets visually and physically realistic.
  • Work with the simulation and AI/ML teams to ensure asset fidelity supports training and validation of robot policies.
  • Optimize assets (LOD, mesh clean-up, collision simplification) for real-time simulation performance without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot articulation, physics, and rendering issues within Omniverse/Isaac Sim scenes.

Maintain documentation of asset pipelines, naming conventions, and articulation standards

We are known for our extraordinary people who make the impossible possible every day. Questians are driven by hunger, humility, and aspiration. We believe that our company culture is the key to our ability to make a true difference in every industry we reach. Our teams regularly invest time and dedicated effort into internal culture work, ensuring that all voices are heard.

We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share their ideas. We know embracing our unique differences makes us better, and that solving the worlds hardest engineering problems requires diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. We shine the brightest when we tap into the many dimensions that thrive across over 21,000 difference-makers in our workplace.

Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Animation, Game Design, Computer Graphics, Multimedia, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of overall 3D content experience, with hands-on background in Blender, Autodesk Maya, and/or 3ds Max.
  • Current, hands-on experience with NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab for robot asset and scene creation.
  • Practical experience building and configuring URDF (or equivalent USD-based) robot descriptions, including joints and articulation.
  • Understanding of physics properties for simulation — mass, inertia, collision shapes, joint drives/limits — and how they affect robot behaviour.
  • Strong grounding in 3D modelling, texturing, UV mapping, lighting, and scene composition.
  • Working knowledge of Python scripting for asset automation and pipeline tooling within Omniverse.
  • Familiarity with USD (Universal Scene Description) concepts and workflows.
  • Experience optimizing assets for real-time rendering and simulation performance.
  • Good collaboration skills to work closely with simulation, robotics, and AI/ML engineers.

Desired / Good-to-have Skills

  • Experience creating assets specifically for robotics, industrial, or humanoid simulation projects.
  • Exposure to rigging, skinning, or skeletal setup relevant to articulated mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with domain randomization and scene variation for synthetic data generation.
  • Knowledge of sensor placement/visualization (cameras, LiDAR) within simulated scenes.
  • Experience with version control for large binary/3D assets (e.g., Git LFS, Perforce).
  • Exposure to Unreal Engine or Unity as part of prior 3D/real-time content work.

Domain Experience

  • 3D Content Creation & Digital Twin Assets
  • Robotics / Humanoid Simulation
  • NVIDIA Omniverse / Isaac Sim & Isaac Lab
  • Synthetic Data & Scene Generation
