Who we are

We are responsible for leading the development of exterior design for all vehicles launched by Kia, including ICEs, EVs, and PBVs.

Additionally, under Kias design philosophy "Opposites United", we are committed to delivering the highest design value to our customers through innovative exterior design development.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will participate in the entire process of exterior design—from concept build-up to development and mass production—carrying out both design evaluation and development tasks.

■ Project Front Loading

  • Conducting research on new typologies for passenger cars, SUVs, CUVs, sedans, minivans, PBVs, and pickup trucks to create distinctive exterior design values
  • Studying unique and innovative forms aligned with Kias design philosophy and DI
  • Proposing differentiated USPs to reinforce Kias innovation identity

■ Mass Production Project

  • Carrying out mass production design projects for various vehicle types including passenger cars, SUVs, CUVs, sedans, minivans, PBVs, and pickup trucks, depending on project schedules and conditions
  • Executing full-cycle design process from kick-off to sign-off
  • Enhancing and improving design by using digital 2D/3D tools, focusing on completeness through digital and clay modeling
  • Engaging in design challenges through global competition with overseas studios and collaborating with overseas designers

■ PBV Exterior Design

  • PBV based vehicles and Convergence (refrigerated trucks, open beds, dropside models) design projects for mass production
  • Managing outsourcing company and design collaboration including concept development, sketching, CAS modeling, engineering coordination, and production
  • Conducting field-oriented ecosystem research for Special Purpose Vehicle and manufacturing

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial/Product design
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive design
  • Those who have experience in exterior automotive design
  • Proficiency in English (fluent in both written and oral business communication)
  • Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Alias, VRED, Blender, PPT, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Those who have experience in product and visual design other than vehicle design
  • Those who have experience in exterior design and concept car development for motor show exhibitions
  • Those who have experience in the launch of mass-production vehicles
  • Proficiency in Alias, VRED rendering and video production
  • Proficiency in BizComm and Midjourney
