Endoscopy Technician

Job Summary

An Endoscopy Technician assists doctors and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile instruments, monitoring patient readiness, and ensuring smooth operation of the endoscopy unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare endoscopy room and equipment before procedures
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and accessories as per infection control protocols
• Assist physicians during procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, etc.
• Check functionality of monitors, scopes, light sources, and suction systems
• Prepare and position patients for procedures
• Monitor and restock consumables and supplies
• Maintain procedure records and equipment logs
• Follow biomedical waste management and hospital safety guidelines
• Support patient transport and post-procedure room turnover
• Report equipment malfunction or maintenance needs promptly
  
  

• Diploma / Certificate in Endoscopy Technology, OT Technology, or related healthcare field
• Basic knowledge of endoscopic instruments and sterilization procedures
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety standards

• Good communication and teamwork
• Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments
• Basic computer documentation skills
  
  

• Minimum 4 -5 years of experience in endoscopy/GI unit preferred
