Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As Assistant Manager MQA within Mahindra & Mahindra Ltds Automotive Division, you will be instrumental in driving the delivery of world-class product quality standards. Your key responsibilities encompass a broad range of quality assurance activities designed to uphold and enhance manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction:

• Daily Field Failure Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses of field failure data to identify persistent issues, emerging trends, and root causes. Proactively develop mitigation plans to reduce recurrence, thereby improving product reliability and customer confidence.
• Process Auditing: Carry out meticulous process audits on manufacturing lines and quality assurance workflows to ensure compliance with stringent industry standards and internal protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify gaps and implement corrective actions that optimize operational efficiency and product integrity.
• Li-Ion Battery Pack Diagnostics and Repair: Demonstrate hands-on expertise in diagnosing battery pack faults, including electrical and mechanical failure modes. Manage field failure investigations using advanced diagnostic equipment, ensuring swift resolution of complex technical challenges and prevention of future defects.
• Advanced Diagnostic Tools Utilisation: Employ cutting-edge diagnostic methodologies such as Controller Area Network (CAN) analysis and log reading techniques to detect subtle faults and performance deviations. Use software tools—predominantly INKA and CANOE TI—to assist in comprehensive fault analysis, facilitating accurate reporting and informed decision-making.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Evaluate and interpret signal behaviour and log data comprehensively to unravel fault origins in battery systems. Translate technical data into actionable insights that inform product improvements and enhance system robustness.
• Technical Expertise in Battery Technologies: Maintain an in-depth understanding of lithium-ion cell chemistries, particularly GNMC and LFP types, including critical parameters such as cell shorting and grouping. Leverage this knowledge to contribute to the design and validation of battery management strategies that ensure safety and performance.
• Vehicle and Motor Diagnostics: Expand and apply your knowledge in motor diagnosis and comprehensive vehicle failure analysis to support integrated quality control efforts across the automotive product portfolio.
• End-of-Line (EOL) Testing and Certification: Oversee EOL testing processes to validate product quality prior to market release, ensuring all products meet defined reliability and safety criteria.
• Continuous Improvement and Collaboration: Champion quality initiatives through collaboration with product engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised and accredited institution. Additional certifications or specialised courses in automotive diagnostics, lithium-ion battery technologies, and quality management systems (such as Six Sigma, ISO standards, or automotive quality frameworks) will be highly advantageous and demonstrate your commitment to professional growth.

General Experience

Successful candidates typically bring between three to five years of progressively responsible experience within the automotive industry, focused on roles involving quality assurance, product diagnostics, and battery pack maintenance.

Experience working in automotive manufacturing environments, particularly those servicing electric or hybrid vehicle platforms, provides a significant advantage. Proficiency in managing quality control processes, conducting rigorous process audits, and performing detailed failure mode analyses will be essential to your success.

Hands-on familiarity with diagnostic and analytical software tools such as INKA and CANOE TI, along with expertise in interpreting Controller Area Network (CAN) communication logs, is highly preferred. Additionally, understanding electric motor diagnostics and end-of-line product validation procedures will contribute to a more comprehensive approach to quality management.
