Senior Tax Consultant

SC&H Tax Services Practice is seeking an experienced Tax Senior for significant, growth-oriented career opportunities in our Gurugram, India office. This role will provide compliance and consulting services to clients in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors. We seek individuals familiar with the tax compliance process, the ability to understand and identify a broad range of general tax issues, preparation of complex tax returns, forming opinions on outcomes of tax issues, strong workpaper techniques and the professionalism necessary to effectively communicate with clients, peers and SC&H professionals at all levels. Youll have the opportunity to develop and pursue creative strategies while using the latest technologies. Your primary responsibilities include tax planning, compliance, and research projects for SC&Hs clients – approximately 50% allocated to nonprofit clients. 

Responsibilities 

• Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for financial reporting under ASC 740.
• Manage the preparation and review of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business related filings.
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
• Review quarterly/yearly tax projections.
• Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.

We seek individuals with:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field.
• 4 plus years of experience (Big 4, national or large regional firm experience preferred)
• Experience working on returns of multiple types, including substantial experience with the Form 990 series
• Understanding of nonprofit tax compliance concepts, such as unrelated business income tax, executive compensation, and public charity reporting requirements
• Excellent Research, Writing and Interpersonal skills
• CPA or pursuing CPA degree required
• Master in Tax is a plus
