Senior System Engineer - GCP SRE

We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. As an SRE, you will work to ensure our systems, services and applications running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are reliable, performant and scalable. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, be passionate about automation and infrastructure-as-code and work well in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems
• Respond to alerts from running services and applications, and conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
• Deploy microservices according to the release cadence
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and prioritize reliability and performance improvements, and to right-size dedicated cloud resources
• Participate in incident management and response using ServiceNow
• Manage and resolve technical issues and tickets using Jira
• Develop a knowledge base for maintaining existing infrastructure and monitoring services

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or system administration role
• Good knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Expertise in Linux operating system internals with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system-level problems
• Strong understanding of containerization concepts and tools, including Kubernetes
• Capability to implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
• Experience with incident management and response using ServiceNow or similar tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with debugging complex technical issues
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (preferably Cloud Monitoring)
• Familiarity with version control using GitHub
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• English proficiency: B2 level or higher
