Role Purpose
Lead mechanical design for customer projects involving Kiosks, E‑Houses, Substations, Prefab Containers, and Modular Power Skids, ensuring technically compliant, manufacturable, and installation-ready solutions. Act as the mechanical engineering lead for customer interactions and guide junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Engineering
- Develop complete mechanical design solutions for kiosks, E‑houses, containerized substations, and skids.
- Translate customer requirements and standards into practical, compliant engineering outputs.
- Integrate structural, thermal, electrical, and fire/IP rating constraints into the design.
Equipment Installation & Layout
- Plan equipment movement paths, lifting arrangements, and installation feasibility inside E‑houses.
- Define access openings, clearances, and maintenance pathways.
Design Documentation
- Prepare accurate GA drawings, fabrication drawings, interface diagrams, and BOMs.
- Ensure designs support manufacturability, installation, and long-term reliability.
Site & Installation Requirements
- Evaluate site conditions and incorporate installation constraints (crane access, foundation, cable trenches).
- Support site teams during installation and commissioning phases.
Supplier & Fabrication Coordination
- Explain design intent to suppliers and validate manufacturing feasibility.
- Review supplier drawings, perform technical evaluations, and support inspections.
Cross-Functional & Customer Interaction
- Serve as the mechanical engineering lead in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical clarifications.
- Collaborate with electrical, civil/structural, thermal, quality, and project management teams.
Travel & Site Visits
- Visit customer sites for installation planning, feasibility checks, and technical reviews.
- Travel to supplier facilities for fabrication reviews and inspections.
Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide and support junior engineers; conduct design reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in mechanical design of E‑houses, kiosks, substations, or prefabricated structures.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (Creo / AutoCAD / Inventor).
- Knowledge of structural design, thermal management, HVAC integration, and equipment layout.
- Understanding of IP/fire rating requirements, fabrication processes, and industrial standards.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills; customer-facing mindset.
