Purpose of the Role

Help our clients-internal and external-understand and use NIQ services better by understanding their requirements, queries, and helping address the same through knowledge of data science and POS methodology.

Key Activities



  • POS Universe estimation by distribution channel in the country of interest. Presentation of the results of the universe study, comparison to previous years’ results and definition of the required changes to extrapolation model based on the study conducted. Calculation of the impact from the proposed changes on the currently conducted panel study
  • Management and updates of the address database of all shops that constitute the retail universe by distribution channel
  • Target sample calculation based on the reporting requirements, and defining recruitment targets for the team responsible for recruitment, in order to fulfill target sample quota
  • Development and adaptation of data modelling approach for nom-cooperating companies
  • Ensuring data quality issues are investigated and appropriate actions on extrapolation and representation of sample are taken
  • Building knowledge of Nielsen suite of products and demonstrating the same
  • Understanding client concerns
  • Able to put forth ways and means of solving client concerns with supervision
  • Automation and development of solutions for existing processes
  • Taking initiative to understand concerns/problems in the product/process and participating in product improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of current market situation and make recommendations for future panel development in countries/channels under responsibility
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret large data sources
  • Able to work in virtual environment. Familiar with git/Bitbucket, Confluence & ADLM Jira processes
  • Can use a logical reasoning process to break down and work through increasingly challenging situations or problems to arrive at positive outcomes
  • Identify and use data from various sources to influence decisions
  • People with at least some experience in RMS (FMCG), will have an advantage

  • Consistently challenges and analyses data to ensure accuracy

Qualifications

Functional Skills

  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office, MS Excel, MS Access
  • Advanced knowledge in Statistics, Sampling methodology, Data Analysis, Project Management
  • Excellent language skills in English
  • Preferred knowledge of Statistical Software like Python, SQL & R
  • Data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy)

Soft Skills

  • Ability to engage/communicate with team and extended team members
  • Can adapt to change and new ideas or ways of working
  • Exhibits emotional intelligence when partnering with internal and external stakeholders

Education and Work Experience required

  • Professionals with degrees in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields involving statistical analysis of large data sets
  • 2-4 years of experience in market research or relevant field
