Job Summary:

This position will prepare, review, and present detailed Civil, Structural, Architectural discipline CAPEX estimates with EPC/EPCM approach for complex projects in our business lines like Oil, Gas, LNG, Chemicals, Semiconductors, Manufacturing, Datacentres, Combined Cycle, Carbon Capture, Mining, Nuclear, Motorways, and Large Infrastructure (like Airports, Water storage etc).

Responsible for developing all Class of estimates (Conceptual to Execute), performs material and labor cost analysis, develops and updates historical databases, and enhances department procedures. Supports estimate reporting and reviews.  Executes other simultaneous tasks within broadly defined parameters for estimating department. Has ability to coach and mentor Junior Estimators in team.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepares CAPEX CSA discipline cost estimates for all class of estimates from Conceptual to Execute (AACEI Class5 to Class1).
• Performs quantity take offs for a discipline or commodity specialty using defined documents.  Collects, reconciles, and verifies data for summary comparisons.
• Advanced knowledge in understanding mechanical equipment, technical processes, engineering drawings, leading to MTO/BOQ quantity determinations.
• Works with other disciplines and functions to collect all necessary data on scope and quantities to prepare an accurate estimate in specialty discipline areas.
• Produces cost estimates using crew-based approach including formation of crews from multiple crafts.
• Prepares, reviews, and presents estimate basis documentation capturing assumptions, rationale, scope inclusions and exclusions for specific contributions.
• Prepares, reviews, and presents estimate summaries and presentations for all reviews: like Project Reviews, Sr Management or Client Estimate reviews. 
• Ensures that estimate is in line with market trends and pricing.
• Researches, develops and maintains costs, quantities, ratios and metrics of the historical cost databases pertaining to specific section. Understands the data and various sources of data.  Extracts non-standard data and formulates the data into comparative summary format for analysis.
• Inputs cost data into the historical cost databases.  Files completed estimates with all relevant back-up documentation yielding an easy-to-follow paper trail.
• Manages variations, trends, and changes to base estimate and ensures that implications of changes are evaluated before finalizing the solution.
• Assists in enhancements for estimating standards and procedures.
• Experience and self-motivation to lead, coach, and mentor junior estimators in team.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Engineering degree and 15+ years of Industry experience with 7+ years on job site with exposure towards developing cost estimates.
• Proficiency in any industry leading cost estimating software like Aspen, Candy, Heavy Bid, Timberline, Cleopatra, etc.
• Understands Stickbuilt vs Modular, Greenfield, and Brownfield Execution Scopes.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with EPC / EPCM estimating methods, processes, and procedures including the full range estimate classifications levels.
• Effective in utilizing metrics to provide valuable checks.
• Advanced knowledge of Civil construction estimating methods.
• Proficiency in AI, Microsoft Power BI, Office, Excel Pivots is a must
• Excellent communication skills to connect with others in project team

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Engineering degree with experience in latest estimating software.
• CAPEX EPC/EPCM estimating experience in any major streams like: Oil, Gas, LNG, Chemicals, Semiconductors, Manufacturing, Datacentres, Combined Cycle, Carbon Capture, Mining, Nuclear, Motorways, and Large Infrastructure (like Airports, Water storage etc).
• Familiar with commercial terms and conditions (contractor relationships, currency exchange, inflation, insurance, escalation, etc.) and with market pricing in area of specialization.
• Experience in parametric estimating techniques.
