Why were hiring:
About WPP Open: WPP Open is our foundational platform unifying WPPs global network. It streamlines critical workflows, fosters collaboration, and drives efficiency and creativity across our diverse portfolio, shaping the future of marketing and communications.
The Opportunity: We are seeking a Lead Process Designer to drive the detailed design and optimization of core workflows within specific domains of WPP Open. This role requires a strong blend of hands-on process design expertise, a deep understanding of operational efficiency principles. You will translate strategic directives from the leadership into tangible, well-articulated and optimized operational processes, ensuring seamless integration with user experiences and contributing directly to the platforms overall efficiency and effectiveness.
What youll be doing:
- Domain-Specific Design Leadership: Lead the end-to-end process design and optimization for specific features, modules, or operational workflows within WPP Open, ensuring alignment with the overarching strategic vision
- Detailed Process Mapping & Blueprinting: Independently develop and refine comprehensive process maps, service blueprints (where applicable to illustrate operational mechanics), and detailed workflow diagrams for assigned areas, identifying key touchpoints, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Operational Solution Development: Translate business requirements and operational insights into intuitive, efficient, and robust process designs, considering both user interactions and back-end system functionalities.
- Collaboration & Implementation: Work closely with product managers, engineering, UX/UI designers, and operations teams to ensure process designs are technically feasible, operationally sound, and effectively implemented.
- Process Analysis & Optimization: Conduct detailed analysis of existing processes within your domain, identifying inefficiencies, waste, and areas for re-engineering to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance overall operational performance.
- User & Operational Research: Plan and execute research activities (e.g., stakeholder interviews, process observations, data analysis) to gather insights into current state processes and user pain points, translating findings into actionable design decisions.
- Prototyping & Iteration: Create and iterate on process simulations, workflow prototypes, and conceptual models to effectively communicate design concepts and gather feedback from stakeholders.
- Documentation & Communication: Clearly document process specifications, workflow diagrams, and design rationale, and effectively communicate design decisions to cross-functional teams.
- Impact Contribution: Contribute to defining and tracking metrics to measure the success and impact of optimized processes within your area of responsibility.
What youll need:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Process Design, Business Process Management, Strategic Design, or a related field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating work on complex enterprise platforms.
- Proven ability to apply systems thinking and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN) to solve real-world business and operational challenges.
- Demonstrable expertise in creating detailed process maps, workflow diagrams, and, where relevant, service blueprints.
- Strong capability in translating business requirements and operational insights into actionable process designs.
- Experience in planning and conducting various research methods (e.g., stakeholder interviews, process analysis, data gathering) and translating findings into design decisions.
- Proficiency with process modelling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Miro) and familiarity with design/prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) for visualizing user interactions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative team environment.
- Experience in guiding or mentoring less experienced designers or analysts is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with B2B/enterprise software platforms and their unique operational challenges is highly desirable.
Education: - Bachelors or masters degree in business Process Management, Industrial Engineering, Design, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, BPM, PMP) are a plus.
