Full Stack Backend Engineer FastAPI PostgreSQL

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong experience in building scalable backend systems, APIs, and data-driven applications. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with Python/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, data engineering workflows, and production debugging.

You will work closely with product, frontend, and data teams to design reliable backend services, optimize database performance, build data pipelines, and troubleshoot issues across applications and infrastructure.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
  
• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations.
  
• Design efficient database schemas and write optimized queries in PostgreSQL.
  
• Work with Snowflake for data storage, transformation, querying, and analytics workloads.
  
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data engineering workflows.
  
• Integrate backend applications with databases, third-party services, and data platforms.
  
• Identify and resolve backend, database, API, and data pipeline issues.
  
• Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.
  
• Monitor application and data pipeline reliability and troubleshoot production issues.
  
• Write clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code.
  
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on architecture and technical solutions.
  
• Participate in code reviews and follow backend development best practices.
  
  
  
  

• Strong proficiency in Python.
  
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.
  
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, database design, indexing, and query optimization.
  
• Experience working with Snowflake.
  
• Understanding of Data Engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT, data pipelines, transformations, and data modelling.
  
• Experience building and integrating REST APIs.
  
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Ability to diagnose application, database, API, and data-related production issues.
  
• Understanding of backend architecture, scalability, and performance optimization.
  
• Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
  
  

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  
• Knowledge of Docker and containerized applications.
  
• Experience with orchestration/data tools such as Airflow, dbt, Kafka, or similar technologies.
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Experience with application monitoring and logging tools.
  
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and distributed systems.
