BI Analyst- Cognos

The Cognos BI Analyst is responsible for ensuring reports, analysis, and dashboards are shared with respective stakeholders, using intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos, SQL and PLSQL. Must have experience in connecting, cleansing and blending data within an ETL or SQL environment.

Job Description

• Design and develop BI solution including reports, visualizations, cubes, and metadata models using Cognos Analytics.
• Develop Business Intelligence (BI) reports from discovery through deployment
• Must have prior experience in Pentaho and ETL development
• Creates databases and schema objects including tables, indexes, stored procedures, and functions as a part of ETL Design
• Design and Develop dashboards and drill-through reports using Cognos
• Troubleshoot and provide recommend solutions for optimized design techniques to build dashboards and reports using Cognos 12, Cognos Framework Manager, Unix Script/ Cognos SDK
• Analyze and refine business requirements to translate them into detail design specifications and build analytical reports and dashboards.
• Develop complex SQL Programs and database procedures using PL/SQL, and database queries using relevant tools
• Expert knowledge in SQL skills including stored procedure, trigger, index etc.
• Create Dashboards and reports in IBM Cognos.
• Identify issues and optimize reports performance using IBM Cognos, BIRT and related tools
• Automate report schedules using UNIX and Shell Script.
• Ability to support Adhoc Requests
