Backend Developer SDE II

We are looking for a Backend Developer (SDE II) to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems using Node.js . You will own end-to-end feature development, collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive engineering best practices while ensuring reliability, scalability, and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Express.js .
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs and backend architectures.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases for performance and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
  
  

• 3-6 years of experience with Node.js and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, Git, and software design principles.
• Experience building scalable backend systems and distributed applications.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
  
  

• Experience with system design, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Familiarity with TDD, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and automated testing.
• Experience with Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, or other caching and messaging technologies.
• Ability to mentor engineers and independently own features from design to production.
