Job Description (JD) – Area Sales Manager (Seeds & Pesticides)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Area Sales Manager with strong knowledge of seeds and pesticides sales. The candidate should have a proven track record in agricultural sales, dealer and distributor management, market development, and team handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales and collection targets for seeds and pesticides.
  

• Manage distributors, dealers, retailers, and other channel partners in the assigned territory.
  

• Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence.
  

• Lead, guide, and monitor the sales team to achieve business objectives.
  

• Develop strong relationships with farmers, dealers, distributors, and key market stakeholders.
  

• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, product demand, and pricing.
  

• Plan and execute farmer meetings, product demonstrations, field activities, and promotional campaigns.
  

• Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments and maintain healthy dealer relationships.
  

• Prepare sales forecasts, monthly sales plans, and regular performance reports.
  

• Coordinate with management and other departments to ensure smooth sales operations.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate in Agriculture or a related field; B.Sc. Agriculture will be preferred.
  

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in seeds and pesticides sales in the same industry.
  

• Strong knowledge of seed varieties, crop protection products, pesticides, and agricultural markets.
  

• Proven experience in dealer/distributor appointment and channel development.
  

• Excellent team management, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  

• Strong understanding of sales targets, market expansion, and collection management.
  

• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
