Summary

The Senior Specialist, IT Infrastructure will install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the sites operating environment, ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance and security of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring and up keeping the operating environments; responding to incidents & problems, planning for growth, deployment of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting problems as reported by users, supporting Web access and telephony services, and the acquisition, replacement and decommissioning of related equipment, software and services.

Detailed Description

  • Administration & Configuration: Configuration, administration, and maintenance of the Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Meet, Calendar, Docs, etc.) and related third-party integrations including Mobile device management and MFA support. This also includes managing and maintaining TrendMicro SMTP appliances and other internal SMTP mail application servers. Support internal applications required for business use.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce security policies in accordance with the security team, implement changes including access controls, data loss prevention (DLP), and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Ensure compliance with organizational policies and data protection regulations.
  • User & Access Management: Organize users into OUs based on department, location, or function to simplify the application of roles and policies. Ensuring users have permissions necessary for their job functions. Enforcing strong security measures like 2-Step Verification (2SV). Restricting external data sharing by default and using organizational units (OUs) to apply granular, context-aware access policies.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues related to Google Workspace. Proactively monitor system performance and health, resolving issues swiftly to minimize disruption. Work actively with Google enterprise support to resolve issues related to Google workspace core services or end user issues.
  • Documentation & Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of all configurations, processes, and security standards. Provide technical guidance and training to end-users and various IT staff located globally.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work together with IT leadership and other business teams (HR, Legal, etc.) to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Google Workspace core services, the Google Admin Console, email systems/protocols (SMTP, DMARC, etc.), and ticketing tools like ServiceNow.

Security Expertise: Proven experience implementing and managing security best practices within a cloud environment.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical end users and senior leadership.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Comfortable to work in 24*7 rotational shifts.

Typical Experience

  • 6+Years of architectural experience working with multiple cloud platform (preference for Azure>GCP>AWS>Other)
  • Strong hands on technical experience in Google workspace administration (configuring and managing Google Workspace Services like Gmail, Calender, and Drives)
  • Good knowledge of VMs, Windows Active Directory, Windows Server, networking and security.
  • Experience in IT Process Design.
  • Experience directly interacting with customers (preferred)
  • 4+years of team lead experience (preferred)

Typical Education

  • Bachelors Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
