Job Description

Manage day-to-day operations of the pre-receiving and receiving processes in the DC for the optimal operational efficiency of the processes
Manage the pre-receiving process effectively as per the standard operating procedures laid down by the company. Manage coordination with the vendors for getting the Advanced Shipment Notices for the timely scheduling of the Carriers for the receiving of merchandise in the DC
Ensure that the merchandise received is as per the ASN and Purchase orders in terms of quality and quantity and terms of delivery and record the receipt of merchandise in the system
Ensure that the receiving docks are made available to the carriers for unloading of the merchandise and schedule them as per the carrier schedules
Ensure the unloading operations are carried out in an efficient manner in order and as per the process to ensure the operational efficiencies
Ensure the effective use of the material handling equipment for unloading of merchandise and as per the procedures laid down by the company for different SKU handling in the Unloading during the receiving operations
Ensure safety norms are followed stringently during the receiving operations of merchandise to minimize the accidents. Initiate disciplinary actions against erring staff
Manage and monitors compliance with merchandise damage minimization efforts in order to ensure proper handling of merchandise.
Prepares the resource requirement plan in terms of manpower, MHE requirements and other resource requirements
Ensures effective handling of materials to prevent the damage to merchandise causing material losses

Initiates process improvement plans for increasing the efficiency of receiving process
