Software Engineer II Python Azure

We are looking for a technically strong and hands-on Software Engineer with expertise in Python, FastAPI, Azure, and cloud-native microservices. The individual will contribute to building scalable, secure, and reliable SaaS solutions while collaborating closely with engineering, product, and operations teams.

Scope

The role involves developing and enhancing cloud-native SaaS services, designing scalable microservices and event-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure, troubleshooting production issues, and driving automation and continuous improvement.

The incumbent will also contribute to technical design, code reviews, mentoring, and improving the reliability and operational efficiency of the team's services.

Our Current Technical Environment

Software: Python, FastAPI, Git, REST API, OAuth, Snowflake

Application Architecture: Scalable, resilient, event-driven, secure multi-tenant microservices architecture

Cloud Architecture: Microsoft Azure, ARM Templates, Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Event Hub, Virtual Network (VNet)

Frameworks/Others: Cloud-native development, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure automation, SaaS

What You’ll Do

• Develop high-quality software and effective test code following clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based services and REST APIs using FastAPI.
• Contribute to scalable, resilient, event-driven, secure, and multi-tenant microservices architecture.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and contribute to story-level design.
• Participate in backlog grooming, planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot issues across environments, perform root-cause analysis, and implement reliable fixes.
• Handle incidents, service requests, and routine/complex changes with appropriate stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with operating and project teams to improve service reliability and operational readiness.
• Drive automation and self-service solutions to reduce manual operational effort.
• Contribute to performance, scalability, security, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and resolve build or deployment issues as required.
• Mentor junior engineers and support onboarding of new team members.
• Stay current with technology trends, including emerging AI-assisted development practices.
• Contribute to the team's technical vision and roadmap.
• Optimize service usage and resource consumption to support SaaS cost efficiency.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field with relevant software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and working with OAuth/OAuth2.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, scalable and resilient systems.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Event Hub, Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, Virtual Network (VNet), and ARM Templates.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
• Strong understanding of clean code, testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and DevOps practices.
• Experience in production troubleshooting, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
• Good understanding of secure architecture, authentication, authorization, identity management, and data security.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Understanding of SaaS scalability, reliability, performance, and resource optimization.
