Overall Purpose of the Job
This role acts as the sole interface for material supply within Group Supply Chain towards Product Line and all associated countries within regions where that Product Line has active demand that needs material supply.
The main criteria for this role is to ensure a smooth supply of inventory to match a demand schedule driven from a project, maintenance, service and/or spares schedule within SAP ensuring a readily available supply balanced with a cost-effective approach to protect Company cash flow.
Key Activities And Accountabilities
Collaborate closely with Operations, Regional Supply Chain, Buyers, Engineering, and Product Line teams to ensure inventory levels are aligned with business demand while maintaining optimal stock availability and working capital efficiency.
Operate as a self-driven individual contributor, delivering assigned responsibilities within agreed timelines, taking full ownership of material planning activities, and proactively preventing escalations through effective communication and issue resolution.
Drive effective Material Requirements Planning (MRP) within SAP by incorporating demand forecasts and forward planning information from Operations and Product Line teams to ensure accurate supply planning.
Maintain and optimize MRP parameters including Reorder Point (RoP), Min/Max levels, Safety Stock, Lead Times, and Lot Sizing rules to support automated replenishment, reduce manual intervention, and prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
Execute and monitor MRP activities, converting planned orders into purchase requisitions to ensure timely procurement and material availability.
Analysing incoming demand identify order exceptions, misalignment with product rationalization strategy and opportunities to utilize existing inventory.
Continuously monitor inventory performance and consumption trends, identifying opportunities to optimize stock holdings, improve inventory turns, and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
Lead excess inventory redeployment initiatives across locations, regions, and product lines by identifying available stock, facilitating Stock Transfer Orders (STOs), and maximizing the utilization of existing inventory before creating new procurement demand.
Drive inventory reduction and cost-saving programs by minimizing emergency purchases, reducing inventory carrying costs, preventing material obsolescence, consolidating inventory where practical, and promoting internal stock utilization over external procurement.
Identify and implement logistics cost optimization opportunities by evaluating alternate sourcing strategies, regional stock pooling, shipment consolidation, redeployment programs, and inventory balancing across locations.
Act as the key interface between Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and Product Line teams to ensure material plans support both current operational needs and future business requirements.
Lead monthly inventory review meetings with Regional and Product Line stakeholders, presenting inventory value, excess and obsolete stock, consumption trends, spend analysis, inventory turns, redeployment achievements, risks, opportunities, and action plans.
Maintain material master data integrity within SAP, ensuring planning and procurement parameters remain accurate, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with current business requirements.
Drive continuous improvement within materials management processes by identifying process gaps, implementing corrective actions, standardizing best practices, and promoting efficiency improvements across the supply chain.
Provide backup support to other MRP Controllers to maintain continuity of material planning activities during absences or periods of increased workload.
Adhere to the Expro Business Principles & Ethics and Code of Business Conduct of being reliable, trustworthy and fair. Avoiding conflicts of commercial interest, ensuring accuracy of information, maintaining confidentialities and by abstaining from all forms of corruption.
Perform additional inventory and materials management responsibilities as assigned by direct or matrix management
Job Knowledge And Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience within material & inventory control
Minimum of 3 years experience in the use of an ERP system – SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards etc
Very good knowledge in MS office excels, word, PPT & BI will add advantage
Oil & Gas or similar industry experience (preferred)
Lean, Kaizen / Six Sigma mindset and training (preferred)
Accredited externally qualification from a recognised body within material/inventory and/or production control (preferred)
