We are looking for a skilled and versatile Automotive Technician with strong expertise in vehicle wiring and electrical systems, tire replacement and wheel balancing, and the ability to support Automotive Research & Development (R&D) activities. The ideal candidate combines hands-on workshop skills with a technical mindset suited for prototype testing, diagnostics, and engineering collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Wiring & Electrical Systems
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle wiring harnesses, circuits, and electrical faults.
Install, modify, and test wiring for OEM components, aftermarket accessories, and prototype systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Perform continuity, voltage, and resistance testing using multimeters and diagnostic tools.
Identify and resolve issues related to sensors, relays, fuses, ECUs, and connectors.
Ensure proper routing, insulation, and protection of wiring to prevent shorts or chafing.
Tire Replacement & Wheel Balancing
Remove and replace tires safely using appropriate workshop equipment.
Perform wheel balancing and alignment checks to manufacturer specifications.
Inspect tires for wear patterns, damage, and pressure issues; recommend replacements when needed.
Operate tire changers, balancers, and torque tools correctly and safely.
Maintain accurate records of tire condition, rotation, and replacement history.
Automotive R&D Support
Assist engineers with installation, instrumentation, and testing of prototype vehicles or components.
Support data logging during test drives (sensor calibration, wiring for test equipment, etc.).
Help build and modify test rigs, mules, or experimental vehicle setups.
Document test procedures, findings, and technical issues for the R&D team.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to troubleshoot new systems before production release.
Provide feedback on serviceability and reliability of new components/designs.
Education
To join our team, you will need:
Diploma/ Degree in Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
Required Skills
Proven experience in automotive wiring/electrical diagnostics and repair.
Practical experience in tire replacement and wheel balancing using standard workshop equipment.
Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools (OBD scanners, multimeters, oscilloscopes a plus).
Exposure to or interest in R&D/testing environments is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
Good documentation and communication skills for working with engineering teams.
Willing to travel to test tracks and Customer sites for validation and Proof of concept testing. Travel is mandatory.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Experience with prototype or pre-production vehicles.
Basic knowledge of CAN bus systems or vehicle electronics architecture.
Familiarity with data acquisition systems used in testing.
Prior experience in an automotive R&D, motorsport, or fleet test environment.
