To lead the Process Engineering function in the O&M Department, ensuring effective monitoring, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of all treatment plants including WTPs, STPs, sludge and biogas systems, and advanced treatment technologies. The Process Head will lead a team of Site Process Engineers across various O&M Projects, provide technical leadership, ensure process compliance, and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Continuously monitor the performance of all Water Treatment Plants (WTPs), Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), Ozonation systems, sludge management systems, and biogas generation units.
Identify performance gaps and take corrective/preventive actions to enhance treatment efficiency and reliability.
Lead process audits and implement optimization strategies for energy, chemical, and resource efficiency.
Act as the technical authority for diagnosing and resolving complex process issues across all sites.
Provide expert support in handling upsets, process deviations, and ensuring compliance with discharge norms.
Develop and implement SOPs, best practices, and process control guidelines.
Drive implementation of innovative technologies and upgrades for improved treatment outcomes.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Process Engineers across multiple sites.
Conduct training programs and workshops to enhance the process knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities of O&M staff.
Promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Prepare and present monthly performance reports, KPIs, and action plans to the O&M Head.
Liaise with site teams, project teams, and external stakeholders on technical matters related to process performance.
Constantly work on process improvements and resource optimization through automation/digital solutions.
Support proposals/contract team for most competitive costing for O&M
Key Competencies
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in conventional and advanced STPs (SBR, MBBR, MBR, ASP), disc filters and WTPs.
Strong understanding of sludge treatment, Digesters, biogas systems, ozonation, and disinfection technologies.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Leadership and team management.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Capability to drive process improvements and implement change effectively.
Experience in heading or leading process teams in medium to large-scale O&M contracts.
Exposure to PLC/SCADA-based automated systems in treatment plants.
Familiarity with safety and environmental compliance norms in the water & wastewater sector.
