Deputy General Manager – “Contract governance and claim management”
Shall be responsible for supporting businesses and project teams in managing contracts effectively, handling disputes in a consistent manner, and improving opportunities while reducing avoidable claims and disputes.
Responsibilities include
Business Contract Function
To ensure clarity, alignment, and timely decision making across the business.
Provide guidance, coordination, and oversight for contract related matters across the business
Approaches to dispute handling, contract interpretation, and risk management.
Provides functional guidance on contract management
Facilitates alignment on dispute strategies and positions
Supports businesses in addressing complex contract issues
Acts as a coordination point for significant claims and disputes
Disputes and Claims
All disputes and claims shall be reviewed and classified based on value, risk exposure, and potential precedent impact.
Disputes of higher value or those with precedent implications shall be coordinated and managed at the central level to ensure a consistent approach across the business.
Approach to Disputes and Claims
Disputes and claims management through a collaborative process to ensure a clear position, a consistent approach, and informed decision making.
Engagement with the Corporate Legal Team or external experts for significant disputes.
Existing Disputes and Claims
Visibility of exposure and status
Sharing of learnings across businesses
Timely identification of matters requiring support or escalation
Dispute Prevention and Contract Readiness
Timely issuance of contractual notices
Maintenance of contemporaneous records
Early identification of emerging claims
Periodic reviews to discuss progress, challenges, and possible resolution strategies
Governance and Review Forums
Periodic discussions on significant disputes
Monthly contract risk and readiness reviews with businesses
Quarterly business level reviews to identify trends and improvement opportunities
