Key Responsibilities

IBM Cognos Development

Design, develop, and maintain complex Cognos v11 reports, dashboards, and events to address evolving business requirements.

Build and optimize Framework Manager models, data modules, and dynamic cubes, ensuring scalability and reusability.

Leverage Cognos features such as Event Studio, Report Studio, Dashboarding, Explorer, AI services, SDK, and Mashup Services to deliver advanced analytics capabilities.

Data Modeling & Integration

Develop and implement robust data models that ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across multiple systems.

Integrate data from DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, and other relational databases to support BI initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into actionable BI solutions.

Work closely with data engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless data flows and optimal BI performance.

Optimization & Governance

Implement best practices for performance tuning, security, and optimization within Cognos and other BI tools.

Ensure compliance with data governance standards and maintain a secure BI environment.

Multi-Tool BI Expertise

Utilize Power BI for interactive visualizations and ad-hoc analysis.

Apply working knowledge of Tableau and other BI platforms to complement Cognos and Power BI deliverables.

Leadership & Mentoring

Provide guidance, training, and technical mentorship to junior BI analysts and developers.

Champion best practices in BI development, reporting, and data visualization across the organization.

Continuous Improvement

Stay up to date with emerging BI technologies, Cognos advancements, and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.

Proactively suggest enhancements to BI processes, tools, and reporting strategies.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related discipline.

Experience:

4-6 years overall IT/BI experience with dedicated to IBM Cognos v11.

Proven hands-on experience with Power BI and good working knowledge of Tableau.

Technical Expertise:

Advanced proficiency in IBM Cognos Analytics v11, including Framework Manager, Report Studio, Dashboarding, Event Studio, Dynamic Cubes, Data Modules, Explorer, AI services, SDK, JavaScript, and Mashup services.

Strong SQL programming skills and experience with multiple databases (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake).

Solid grasp of data modeling and database design principles.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
