This role supports the development of robust cost planning and estimating outputs across a varied portfolio of infrastructure and built-environment projects. This role plays a key part in supporting investment decision-making and business planning during the early development and design stages of projects.
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to the preparation of structured, high-quality 3 Point Estimates in line with recognised industry measurement standards, while supporting trade-offs between cost, risk and value.
Key Accountabilities
Undertake cost planning activities throughout the project development and design lifecycle to support business case and investment submissions.
Prepare accurate and timely 3 Point Estimates (3PEs) using appropriate Methods of Measurement, including: Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement (CESMM) New Rules of Measurement (NRM)
Structure and present estimates in the correct Method of Measurement format.
Collaborate closely with Risk and Value specialists to ensure all estimates are supported by suitable and proportionate risk allowances.
Support cost analysis, benchmarking and cost modelling activities to inform strategic decision-making.
Contribute to clear, concise reporting outputs for internal and stakeholder review.
Occupational Skills And Knowledge
Basic knowledge of Cost Planning and Estimating processes and techniques.
Understanding of Value and Verification (V&V) processes associated with 3 Point Estimates for business case development.
Exposure to Cost Analysis, Cost Modelling and Benchmarking methodologies.
Qualified to a basic standard in Cost Planning, Estimating and/or Quantity Surveying.
Experience working on civil engineering, M&E and/or building projects.
Demonstrable experience delivering cost planning, estimating or quantity surveying services in a project environment.
Strong communication, analytical, presentation and reporting skills.
