Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Practice Clinical Pharmacist based at South HSCP.

Please note this is a fixed-term vacancy until October 2026

What You Will Do

You will use and develop your clinical expertise (including independent prescribing where applicable), working with a cohort of patients as part of a multidisciplinary practice team. Part of the role will also include ensuring quality and cost effective prescribing within GP practices to meet NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s efficiency savings. Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job

  • Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent.
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain (including evidence of continuing professional development).
  • Vocational Training (Level 2) or training experience to an equivalent level.
  • Relevant experience as a pharmacist and dealing with prescribers.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Highly specialised level of clinical pharmacy knowledge, skills, clinical reasoning and judgement.
  • Good knowledge, awareness and understanding of relevant professional and clinical standards and guidelines.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of information technology.
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal Planning and organisational skills.
  • Advanced arithmetic skills.
  • Critical appraisal skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Full driving licence.

25.9 hours per week
