Bondada Group is seeking a visionary and execution-focused Business Head – Data Centers to lead and scale its Data Centers business as a strategic growth vertical. This leadership role will be responsible for building end-to-end data center capabilities aligned with Bondada Group’s strengths in EPC, infrastructure delivery, telecom, and emerging digital infrastructure. The incumbent will own the complete lifecycle of the Data Centers business—from strategy, market entry, and customer acquisition to large-scale project execution, operational excellence, and profitability. The role requires a strong techno-commercial leader who can bridge hyperscaler expectations with robust infrastructure execution, regulatory compliance, and sustainability best practices.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
Business Strategy & P&L Ownership
Define and execute the long-term business strategy for the Data Center vertical aligned to Tier III / Tier IV compliant infrastructure growth.
Own complete P&L responsibility including CAPEX planning, ROI, IRR, TCO models, and lifecycle cost management of data center assets.
Drive scalable business models across hyperscale, colocation, wholesale, retail, edge data centers, managed services, and AI/HPC-ready facilities.
Lead capacity planning (MW, rack density, white space utilization) and monetization strategies.
Prepare annual operating plans, budgets, and rolling forecasts for Board and senior leadership review.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
Lead end-to-end business development from site feasibility, power tie-ups, land acquisition support, and customer contracting.
Acquire large hyperscalers, cloud service providers, BFSI, telecom, OTT, and government customers.
Structure commercial models including MW-based pricing, rack-based pricing, cross-connects, SLA-backed uptime commitments, and long-term colocation contracts.
Track industry trends such as liquid cooling, high-density racks (30–100 kW), AI/ML workloads, GPU clusters, edge computing, and hybrid cloud architectures.
Analyze regulatory frameworks including power regulations, data localization norms, and environmental compliance.
Develop go-to-market strategies for new campuses and interconnection-rich ecosystems.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Engage with CXOs, CTOs, CIOs, hyperscalers, system integrators, OEMs, EPC partners, and regulators.
Act as executive sponsor for key accounts, overseeing solutioning, capacity ramp-up, and lifecycle account management.
Drive consultative solution selling covering colocation, cloud on-ramps, DR sites, BCP, and interconnection services.
Technical & Solution Leadership
Work closely with design, engineering, and operations teams on data center master planning, MEP systems, redundancy (N, N+1, 2N), power chain design, and cooling architectures.
Oversee infrastructure elements including HT/LT power systems, DG sets, UPS, bus ducts, CRAH/CRAC, chillers, liquid cooling, and BMS/DCIM platforms.
Ensure compliance with global standards such as Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and SOC.
Guide solutions for AI/HPC, cloud, edge, and latency-sensitive workloads.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with EPC, design consultants, OEMs, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of data center builds.
Ensure smooth customer onboarding including rack installation, power turn-on, network cross-connects, and commissioning.
Support marketing, thought leadership, and industry forums related to digital infrastructure.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to environmental norms, power efficiency targets (PUE), water usage effectiveness (WUE), and sustainability benchmarks.
Drive ESG initiatives including renewable energy sourcing, carbon neutrality, and green building certifications.
Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and operational risks.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Build and lead high-performing teams across sales, solutioning, and strategy.
Develop technical and commercial capability within the business unit.
Drive a culture of accountability, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Revenue growth and profitability (EBITDA margins)
Deal pipeline strength and conversion ratios
Customer acquisition and retention
Capacity utilization and project delivery timelines
Strategic partnerships and market expansion milestones
Team performance and capability development
Desired Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / IT) or equivalent; MBA preferred.
15+ years of experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, cloud, telecom, or large-scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong exposure to data center design, MEP systems, power and cooling technologies, capacity planning, and uptime engineering.
Hands-on experience with hyperscaler requirements, EPC coordination, and large CAPEX-led infrastructure programs.
Deep understanding of Indian regulatory environment, power ecosystems, and data center policy framework.
