Job Description

The associate will be responsible for managing and improving operations in the Paint Shop and Shell Department. This role requires expertise in coating processes, chemical management, and lean manufacturing practices to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production aligned with organizational goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes using Lean tools and methodologies such as Line Balancing, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), TPM, waste elimination, Kaizen, and Gemba activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Paint Shop and Shell Department, ensuring effective production planning and component availability to meet ASCP requirements.
  • Lead and manage powder coating and liquid coating processes, including pretreatment (PT) lines, chemical control, tank maintenance, DM plant operations, laboratory testing, and coating solution management.
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity.
  • Manage shop-floor manpower and production controls, including HIRAC, CJSA, SQDC, hourly production monitoring, 6S implementation, Kaizen execution, OEE improvement, and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, with emphasis on hazardous chemical handling, operator safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strengthen safety culture through engineering controls, risk mitigation, and structured safety training programs.
  • Execute effective resource planning across Man, Machine, and Method to optimize efficiency, capacity utilization, and cost performance.

Required Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma / Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 5–6 years of experience in Paint Shop operations

Certifications

  • As required by role or regulatory standards

  • Travel Requirement: Up to 20%
