Partnership Sales Manager

Global Category Manager, ISP/Telco

The IWG Group is looking for a talented experienced procurement professional to become our Global Category Manager, IST/Telco, reporting directly to the Director, Group Centre Costs.

Job Purpose

  • Define clear, optimised, and scalable internet and telecommunication specifications and service requirements, grounded in business needs and demand drivers
  • Reengineer the category delivery and sourcing model across regions to achieve structural cost reduction across broadband, fibre, DIA, leased lines, backup lines, among others
  • Deliver sustainable year on year savings through category strategy, market and cost assessment, standardisation, and governance of multi region strategic suppliers


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and govern global specifications and demand guardrails, including standardisation, exception rules, and adoption requirements with regional teams
  • Design and continuously improve the category delivery and sourcing model, including supplier profile, process improvement and total resource utilisation strategy (in-house vs. external)
  • Lead market, cost, and risk assessment for the category and translate it into category strategy, savings targets, and sourcing priorities
  • Manage multi region strategic suppliers, including performance targets, quarterly business review cadence, and commercial guardrails used in regional tenders and contracts
  • Approve regional category related decisions and outputs, including tender parameters, supplier model, savings ambition, and commercial guardrails
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and global IT standards
  • Optimise bandwidth and service plans based on usage trends
  • All other duties as requested by the line manager


Key Performance Indicators

  • Percent of spend in approved specification
  • Cost reduction versus baseline for key specifications
  • Global savings delivered versus target and year on year savings sustainment
  • Percent of spend routed through preferred suppliers
  • Strategic supplier performance against scorecard targets, including network performance metrics (e.g. latency, uptime, bandwidth usage)


Key Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, engineering, or related discipline, ideally within a greenfield environment and with a multicultural setup


Technical skills or knowledge

  • Proven ISP and telecommunications category management experience, including specification governance and category delivery model design
  • Strong commercial capability across supplier models, contracting levers, and multi market supplier governance
  • Ability to translate market dynamics and cost drivers into structural cost reduction and sustained savings
  • Proven successful track record of organising, negotiating and delivering that demonstrates thorough knowledge of leading strategic sourcing processes, tools and techniques
